How to point legacy MSN builds at the Crossmsgr servers.
How to patch MSN 1.0–4.x
- Set an old messenger (MD5) password by logging into the website and opening your profile.
- Download an unpatched MSN version (see the list below).
- Open Regedit — press Win+R, type
regedit.exe, and press Enter. - Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MessengerService. - Right-click and create a new String value named
Server. - Double-click the new value and enter:
crossmsgr.dedyn.io - Start (or restart) MSN.

For MSN 5 and earlier you must set an old messenger (MD5) password in your profile before logging in.
