What we collect
Generally, we only collect what's required for the service's operation, what's required to filter out spam and bot requests, and what's required to properly moderate the service and to keep things safe for everyone. This data is not and never will be shared with any third parties, for any reason, unless required by law. That data is:
- Account data (emails, usernames, passwords, contacts, group chats, avatars, PSMs (personal status messages), OIMs (offline instant messages), enabled clients, client version, IP addresses)
- All connections to the pages on our websites are logged. Your IP address, user agent, referrer (if there is one), and the URL you requested are logged.
- Minimal traffic to the service (from an IM client) is logged. Only basic actions (such as when a session starts/ends, when a message is sent, when contact lists are changed, and when users are created/updated) are logged, with no details other than who performed the action and what the action was. We cannot read your messages. A sample capture is available at the end of this page if you wish to take a look.
- This data is retained for 30 day periods, and is deleted at the end of the retention period.
Information sharing
As already noted, we do not sell or share this data with anyone, for any reason, under any circumstance. We will never comply with any kind of voluntary surveillance, and will resist any requests for data from law enforcement whenever reasonably possible.
Notification of changes
We may change this document at any time, however, it is required for us to inform our users about said policy change.
